The exhibitions of the museum introduce visitors to the life and work of the legendary division commander, tell tourists about Chapaev’s studies at the General Staff Academy, his participation in wars, his battles against Kolchak, and his struggle for the establishment of the Soviet regime, and display his military decorations. The horse-drawn Machine-gun platform tachanka, Chapaev’s burka (traditional men’s coat), his sword, saber, revolver, pistol, rifle, Maxim machine gun , and horse saddles allow visitors to take an imaginary time machine back to the era of the Civil War.
Among the exhibits of great interest are genuine documents and photographs, four crosses and a medal of St. George, an Order of the Red Banner and a questionnaire personally filled by Chapaev.
