Optional excursion
SPORTING, otherwise known as Clay Pigeon Shooting, is the art of shooting special flying targets imitating birds. Guests are transferred in wagons and sleighs to the shooting range equipped with automatic devices flinging saucer-shaped targets into the air. The shooting range is located in a beautiful pine forest. The shooting is done under supervision from instructor. Enjoy a quick tea break with pirozhki. The programme length is 1.5 hours.

After breakfast, the tourists leave at about 10-00 to take part in the excursions. Tourists board the Sosnovets-Rabocheostrovsk bus (110 km, travel time is 2 hours). Next, the group travels on the Rabocheostrovsk-Solovki ship (travel time is 2 hours; the ship sets sail at 12-30 and arrives to Solovki at 14-30). Lunch (lunch box).
Walking tour of the Solovetsky Kremlin. Learn about the history of the Solovetsky Monastery. Visit the central complex of the monastery, churches, UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as the sites that are related to the economic activities of the monastery. Island tour duration is 3 hours.

Sea trip on a boat to the Great Zayatsky Island. Tourists will visit the largest pagan shrine dating back to 2000-1000 BC, see stone labyrinths, a complex of religious buildings, the first Russian stone harbor, as well as the Skete of Saint Andrew. Tour duration: 3 hours.
Note: It takes 45 minutes to get from the Great Solovetsky Island to the Great Zayatsky Island by boat. The tour is held during favorable weather conditions, provided that there is no storm warning.
Lunch at the hotel.
Tour by bus: Sekirnaya Mountain. Ascension Skete. Excursion: Botanical Garden-Macarius Hermitage. Visit to the Northernmost botanical garden in Russia, the archimandrite house, the Alexander Chapel, and the Memorial Cross. Tour duration: 3.5 hours.
Recommendations: For those tourists who stay on the Great Solovetsky Island overnight, we recommend making the first day a fascinating boat trip to the lake-channel system which is one of the best landmarks of the Solovetsky Islands. There are more than 400 lakes on Solovki, with significantly different water lines. The construction of the Solovetsky Monastery caused a significant increase in the population of the village that required an increasing amount of drinking water. The lack of rivers prompted settlers to connect the lakes by canals.
The lake-canal system was created four centuries ago under the leadership of Abbot Philip (1548-1566). Seventy-eight lakes were connected into a single water system that supplies water to the Holy Lake. The distance from the tour office to the boat station is 2.8 km. At the boat station, tourists get on Pella boats with a capacity of 4-5 people each. The tourists navigate the boats on their own.
