Leonid Borisovich Krasin (1870-1926) was a Russian engineer, social entrepreneur and Soviet Bolshevik politician and diplomat. Krasin assumed different executive positions in the Bolsheviks government: in 1918 he began working in the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs, later he became the head of the Special Commission for provisioning the Red Army and the People's Commissariat for Trade and Industry of RSFSR. In 1918 Krasin became a member of the committee of the Superior Soviet of the People's Economy. At his suggestion, the Experts of the Soviet Union was created, which contained representatives of the technical intelligentsia.  From March 1919 until March 1920 Krasin was the People's Commissar for Transportation of RSFSR and a member of the Commission for the Transportation of the Revolutionary Military Council. In 1919 in Moscow he held a meeting to discuss the delivery of Siberian bread to the starving population. The same year Krasin together with G. Lomov proposed to the Council of People's Commissars to consider the concession for the Great Northern route (northern railway travelling from Murmansk to the river Ob).
