Volgograd is a city located in the South-East of the Volga Region, it is the administrative center of the Volgograd Region. Volgograd is a hero-city, the place of the Battle of Stalingrad. Formerly Tsaritsyn (1589-1925) and Stalingrad (1925-1961). Volgograd is situated on the right bank of the Volga River, in its lower reaches.
