Saratov

The city is located on the right bank of Volga River, halfway between Samara and Volgograd. It was originally founded as a fortress to protect the South-Eastern border of Russia. The must-see landmarks of Saratov include the beautiful embankment with its twinkling lights, the highway bridge over Volga River (formerly the longest bridge of Europe for many years), Victory Park on Sokolova Mountain, including the Cranes Monument and the Museum of Military Equipment, as well as the National Village open-air museum.
